Feed Your Faith with Bible Study

I’m going to be completely honest with you. Studying the Bible has been sporadic in my life, at best. I always have good intentions, and when I commit to reading the Word, God never fails to share something sweet with me. Quite frankly, those times in my life when I did time-intensive, in-depth studies were the times I felt closest to God.

Why do I drift away?

If you know my story, you know how difficult 2020 has been for me. I have spent countless hours talking with the Lord, thanking Jesus, and pleading with the Holy Spirit to intercede. Although my prayer life is thriving, I haven’t taken a deep dive back into the Bible. That’s not to say I haven’t meditated on scriptures. I have discovered several foundational verses this year for my life, thanks to friends and family pouring the Word over me through cards, emails, and text messages.

So why do I tend to drift away from dedicated time in the scripture? As I reflect on that question, I can’t seem to find the answer. I could tell you it’s about time, but that’s a poor excuse. I could say I’m mentally not prepared for it after the summer I’ve had. That’s not a good reason. I know God will meet me where I am. Is it that I’m working on this blog and starting to write a book about my journey? That doesn’t fly either. I need to be spending in-depth quiet time with the Lord, seeking His guidance in more ways than prayer alone. No, the God of the Universe doesn’t want to hear about why I don’t spend more time with Him.

Committing to the Word

If you find yourself asking, “Why am I not spending time in the Word?” I invite you to spend time reflecting. Decide if your reasons are valid. If they’re not, please join me today in committing to diving into dedicated Bible study. Whether you’re new to Bible study or a seasoned believer like me, it’s time!

May you be abundantly blessed as you draw near to Jesus.

To help guide you through your time in the Word, I’ve designed a journaling page for you to download free. Be sure to print several copies as you’ll be using them daily.
